Over My Shoulder

Over the shoulder of my purple pullover, sparkling Tomales Bay estuary in the late afternoon sunlight is bounded by lines of dark green trees curving around the distant golden grassy hills and a patch of pale blue sky. You can see all that, can't you?

Grounded!

This is the 'Point Reyes', an old, abandoned fishing boat grounded on a grassy sandbar in Tomales Bay at Inverness. I'm not the only one to have photographed or painted this scene!

Mesmerized and Horrified

I haven't actually owned a TV for at least 25 years, so I'm particularly susceptible to their hypnotic effect when they're on. Although happy enough to be hypnotized by a Harry Potter double feature on our last night in Inverness, I was horrified at the number of repeating ads whose message was that we were unclean, contaminated, and a threat to our friends and family unless we sprayed ourselves, our children, our furniture, our pets, our rugs, our cars, etc., with the product being advertised.
