iDraw: I Imagined Myself as Edith Head

We've been having a Columbo fest, and I've been meaning to draw myself as Columbo, but tonight I couldn't resist Hollywood costume designer Edith Head, who made a guest appearance as herself on the Columbo episode we watched this evening. Seeing her we also realized that Edith clearly was the inspiration for the costume designer Edna in The Incredibles.

A friend is involved in a performance of Seussical but I'm not going to be able to make it to Boston to see the show. If you're closer to Boston, please check it out! Meanwhile, the invitation inspired me to imagine myself as The Cat in the Hat - fits right in with all my other hatted portraits!

No, it's not my second degree black-belt test in Aikido, it's my face in a cardboard cut-out in San Francisco's Japantown, where we attempted unsuccessfully to run some errands this afternoon. Well, the errands failed but the unagi don and green tea ice cream were a success!

OK, it's not really a self-portrait. I just couldn't resist including it here as part of the archives. Also, I know the year but not the date. Normally I would therefore average it into June, but I know that it was done during a school semester. I'm guessing this was during the spring semester and the two darker actual self-portraits were the following winter semester.
