Crocs on Carpet Sit
I need a good Seuss-ian rhyme... anyone? Click on comments to leave your suggestions... Sadly, the carpets were rolled up and put into storage as it was The Alexander Educational Center's last day at beautiful St. John's. When class starts up again in the fall, we'll be at our new digs on 6th Street in Berkeley.

Four Quick Studies for 'Albany Bowl'
-723176.jpg)
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. And if what you're doing isn't working - try someting else! I suppose that applies equally to drawing and bowling. In any event, this is from our TAEC class trip to Albany Bowl to observe and teach the Alexander Technique in activity - working on each other while working on bowling.Labels: 2008, Media: Pen, Media: Pencil/Graphite, Media: Watercolor, Process: Directly From a Photo, Process: From Photo(s), Process: In 15 minutes or less, Style: Loose and Scribbly, Subject: Alexander Technique, Subject: Narrative, Where: San Francisco (Florida St.)

Organs, Organs, Where are my Organs?
As part of my Alexander Technique Teacher Training, I'm learning some anatomy - but coloring in the Anatomy Coloring Book doesn't really work for me - to understand things I have to try to draw them myself. Too bad organs don't actually come in these nice colors.Labels: 2008, Media: Pencil/Graphite, Media: Watercolor, Process: From a Sketch, Process: From Imagination, Process: From Photo(s), Skin Tones: Multi, Subject: Alexander Technique, Subject: Narrative, Where: San Francisco (Florida St.)

Active Rest
Active rest is a term we use in the Alexander Technique to refer to lying in this position and consciously directing yourself to let go of all unnecessary tension. You definitely should not be worrying about whether there's going to be an earthquake which causes the ladder to fall on you.Labels: 2008, Media: Watercolor, Process: From Imagination, Process: From Life, Subject: Alexander Technique, Subject: Narrative, Subject: With Plants, Where: San Francisco (Florida St.)

Vermont Street
There are fabulous trees in the Berkeley hills, where I went to exchange Alexander work with my friend Amira Alvarez. While you're waiting for me to get my certification (at least another 1.5 years), if you're in the East Bay, I recommend that you take some lessons from her!

Friday's Alexander Technique Exchange
Last Friday's Alexander Technique exchange included students and recent graduates from all three Bay Area Alexander Technique Teacher Training Schools: The Alexander Educational Center, The Northern California Center for the Alexander Technique and The Bay Area Center for the Alexander Technique. We all enjoyed working together and look forward to doing it some more!
