Julia Kay's Portrait Party

Julia Kay's Portrait Party (JKPP) is open to new members by application

If you're an artist and you'd like to join a fantastic international community of portrait artists who draw and are drawn by artists all over the world, please consider applying to join JKPP.

All members are both subjects and artists. Therefore, you must be willing to post publicly-viewable photos of yourself for everyone else to draw, and be open to very varied interpretations of those photos.

To apply to JKPP:

  1. Read the group guidelines. Only proceed if you are comfortable abiding by the guidelines.
  2. Create a free flickr account if you don't already have one.
  3. Upload some of your non-photographic artwork to flickr.
    • It does not have to be portraits - it can be any subject or media.
  4. Make sure your uploaded artwork is publicly viewable.
  5. Apply by clicking the join link on the JKPP flickr page.

During the application process, you will be asked several questions, such as whether you are willing to post photos of yourself for everyone else to draw. Your application will not be considered unless you answer all of the questions.

Please be patient after applying. Depending on the volume of requests and other JKPP projects, it can take up to 4-6 weeks for new applications to be reviewed.

If you are accepted into the group, you will be sent a flickrmail with directions on how to get started. Please make sure your flickrmail is forwarding to an email address that you check regularly, and that flickrmail does not fall into your spam folder.
